EXPLAINING DAMA

DAMA (which stands for Designated Area Migration Agreement) enables Australian employers in designated areas to sponsor skilled and semi-skilled workers from outside Australia.

In terms of DAMA you must be sponsored by an Australian employer under the Subclass 482 visa and therefore you cannot apply individually for a visa without an Australian employer offering you employment

The Australian employer must first be endorsed by the relevant State or Territory Government to access the DAMA. The Australian Employer can only then enter into individual DAMA labour agreements with the Australian Department of Home Affairs.

The Australian employer can then sponsor workers from outside Australia to fill vacancies for up to a 4 year period at a time through the Temporary Skill Shortage (TSS) subclass 482 program or permanently through the Employer Nomination Scheme (ENS) subclass 186 program.

There will be age concessions in some occupations in certain areas for applicant’s under 55 years of age.

We undertake assessments to check you meet eligibility requirements.

We provide you with checklists for you to gather supporting evidence and documents and assistance for you to meet visa criteria. We assist you with the skill assessment process where it is a requirement for your nominated occupation.

Contact us for any Australian visa advice and assistance to ascertain your eligibility. We can process your visa application for you if we advise you meet the visa criteria.
