Australia’s Food and Wine

Australia’s Food and Wine

While many travelers of course visit Australia for it’s Tourist Destination hot spots, many as much as 1 in 5 tourist dollars, are being spent on Australia’s Food and Wine. With that being said, the industry is eager to capitalise on this new spending trend. It is said that an extra $531 million, an increase of 12.6% which is a massive increase in the spending of the tourist dollar.

With many regions in every corner of our fine country playing host to beautiful food and wine, it is no wonder that tourists have taken note as we are not the meat pie and sausage roll capital of the world any more. Our influences come from many areas of the globe with fusions of food becoming so much more apparent. Our wines have always been second to none, with our wines being sold in the tiniest towns in France- the so-called wine capital of the world.

The rise has come to fruition with a rigorous campaign by Tourism Australia (named Restaurant Australia) to establish the country as the food and wine destination.
